If you’re totally new to a trigger point ball, start using it on a softer surface, like in your sofa or bed. This will not create such a deep pressure like if you where using it on a floor. Start slowly with up to 5-10 minutes a day to learn the technique and to see how your body reacts to using it.
Then if or when you feel ready for it you can start using it for longer sessions and if you would prefer a deeper pressure you can start using it when laying on the floor. A middle way here can also be to try it out against a wall when you’re standing up having your trigger point ball between the wall and your body.T
